Mechanical Designer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize SolidWorks software to complete designs from start to finish

• Create 3D model and 2D prints for manufacturing

• Use PDM for document management saving files

• Use JBA as a search tool for job reference

• Print or review job requirements in JBA for specific design requirements

• Manage work load based off due date

• Invent solutions for customer requests

• Work with other designers effectively, share best practices

• Work with and communicate effectively with Shop floor, Sales and Purchasing.

Qualifications/Experience

• High School Diploma

• Basic use of Microsoft outlook and Microsoft Office 2010/PDM Vault

• Must be knowledgeable in GD&T, Ergonomics

• Must have knowledge of departments within organization and meet there individual needs

• Strong mechanical thinking and problem solving

• 2 years of Solidworks experience minimum

• Knowledge of machining practices in a manufacturing environment

Preferred, but not required:

• AutoCAD experience

• Knowledge of tool steels

• Automotive field experience

• Familiar with document management software (EPDM)

• Experience with automated machine design

• Excellent organization skills

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport building, listening and questioning skills
