IT Infrastructure Specialist
Position description
The Infrastructure Specialist is a highly skilled and proactive individual who is tasked to manage and maintain our organization’s critical IT systems, including servers, workstations, networking equipment, telephony, security systems, and data infrastructure. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our technology environment. This position also works closely with other information technology staff to support critical software applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain, monitor, and optimize Windows physical and virtual servers

Oversee workstations dedicated to system automation and control

Manage, monitor, and optimize Cisco wired and wireless networking equipment

Configure and monitor firewalls for perimeter security and VPN access

Maintain an on-premise phone system

Administer systems responsible for physical security
-
Manage and support multiple SaaS solutions
-
Guide, advocate for, and implement IT security policies to protect systems, data, and users across the organization

Develop, maintain, and regularly test disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity
-
Respond to after-hours outages and system failures to restore operations promptly

Perform scheduled maintenance during off-hours to minimize disruption to business operations
Additional Duties and Responsibilities

Support technology users via ticketing system, phone hotline, and walk-ins

Support users through general Q&A and make recommendations on how to perform tasks

Support users by having underlying understanding of the data and systems connected to it

Participate in software life cycle for server side scripts and projects: scope, development, test document, release, enhancements, and bug fix

Run and terminate Ethernet cable within the facilities

Perform other related duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Traits
-
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management
-
Strong knowledge of Windows Server environments, virtualization, and Active Directory
-
Experience with network architecture, firewalls, VPNs, and VoIP systems

Familiarity with backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and security policy implementation

Excellent organization skills
-
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred, but not required:

Certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or similar

Solid understanding of data storage systems and database management
-
Azure cloud administration experience.

Experience with Solidworks, Solidworks PDM
-
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport building, listening, and questioning
