Aggressive Tooling recently completed a major project that pushed the boundaries of our capabilities—and marked an exciting milestone for our company. For the first time ever, we designed and built a fully custom press used to secure three different types of metal components. Until now, our customer had sourced this specialized equipment exclusively from overseas suppliers. We’re proud to be the first company in North America to successfully provide a local solution.

The system we built delivers servo-controlled tonnage to precisely lock two components around the part, ensuring a secure and reliable fit. The job involved two phases: the main tooling station and a secondary upgrade that included barcode scanning and debris control.

Key Features of the Custom Press:

·         Complete Component assembly using a guided, servo controlled powered assembly

·         Cycle time optimized to 47 seconds, with a user-friendly 15-second load/unload process

·         Spring-loaded assemblies to ensure proper fit and placement during the assembly process

·         Precision tooling crafted from heat-treated D2 steel with coated surfaces for durability

·         Adjustable components and modular shield-holding assemblies for future flexibility

·         Custom welded cart and aluminum base plate for secure and mobile operation

·         A Keyence 2D barcode reader to identify parts before processing

·         An integrated air knife system to keep the scanner clear of debris

·         Precision machined clearances for enhanced readability without interfering with production

From tooling design to final wiring and plumbing, every aspect was handled in-house. This project not only reflects our expanding capabilities but also highlights our commitment to helping customers localize and streamline their manufacturing operations.
